Mass spectrometry provides crucial insights into the activity of protein and metabolic pathways. Using state-of-the-art high-resolution mass spectrometry, the fate of these labelled isotopes can be followed throughout metabolic networks, or protein content of cells and organelles and protein-protein interactions under healthy and perturbed conditions can be analyzed. Our researchers have access to help with experimental design, data analysis and visualization and specialize in high-end proteomics and metabolomics applications.

Proteomics Pipelines
Pedro Magalhães recently joined as a Proteomics Specialist. Future proteomics applications and pipelines include:
- Shotgun analysis to identify and quantify the protein content in biological samples, encompassing cells and tissue lysates, gel bands as well as bodyfluids
- Identification of post-translational modifications
- Study of protein complexes/protein-protein interactions through affinity Purification/Immunoprecipitation-mass spectrometry
- Low-amount samples analysis
